How You And Your BRIDESMAIDS Can Be {CAMERA} Ready! // Wedding Day Prep (Vol. 4)

1... 2... 3... SMILE!
There can be so much time spent in planning and preparing for the entire day of your wedding experience. One of the most important details in your plans is creating the most "picture-perfect looks" for such a special day.

"The BRIDE always has to look the BEST, that's just a rule!" - Me (The FizzyArtist)

Next in line you have the groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, and oh yeah... don't forget the adorable flower girl(s) and ring bearer(s). Everyone, including your guests will strive to look their "WEDDING BEST." It can almost feel like you're attending your high school prom all over again!

Everyone will want to look their "wedding best" because of the constant presence of many cameras. There will be countless moments throughout the day that you will want to be documented forever. No matter who you are that day, when you hear the word, "SMILE," you will want to stop, pose and flash those pearly whites!

Jessica Cooper, one of my Fizzy Brides had a beautiful, glamorous wedding last winter. She had ordered the FizzyArtist custom champagne glasses and water goblet for the ladies in her bridal party. Recently she sent an e-mail to me with pictures of her and the girls getting ready to LOOK their BEST, with custom glasses in hand! What a fun way to pose for the camera. Instead of saying "Cheese!" the girls can say "Cheers!" Check out these fun photos and how beautiful Jessica (the bride) was that day!

"Bethany, The glasses were a HUGE hit!!!!!
Check out the pictures :)"
 - XO, Jessica now Cooper!

Unleash Your Inner {BOMBSHELL} // Fizzy Fashion (Vol. 2)

Seduce your man with a sizzlin' new look this year! Or maybe you'd like to snatch the man of your dreams (I know I would)! No matter what shape you're, if you are a woman, you have curves to work with. Some of us have more curves than others, but there are always tricks on how to give the illusion that you do. And by now, most of us know that men enjoy our curves. So why not give them what they want!?

Floral Ruffle Top, by Express. Grey Dolman Cardigan, by Forever 21
I put together an outfit that has some of the best ingredients for a bombshell brew that will wow any guy!

First things first, ladies...

1. Please wear cute underwear! No need for bells and whistles, but a feminine color with lace or flowers is a must. No granny panties allowed! It's OK to keep the bra simple, but use one that does the job (lift and hold).

2. I like to build an outfit around the shoes that I want to wear. I think hot shoes are one of the most important elements in looking irresistibly sexy. With the right high heels you can wear a comfortable outfit and still look good. This is one of my favorite tricks! To be really on point - have your nails freshly painted.

My latest shoe find at my favorite store: Forever 21
(sexy heels for only $22.80)
3. A cigarette pant or skinny jean is the best way to look long and lean. I am only 5'1" so when the skinny jean came on to the fashion scene I was in love. I never knew that showing the curves of just your legs could make you look so much smaller -- I don't know if I will ever go back to a bootcut-style jean. My favorite denim right now is Levi's skinny jean in the curve fit. These have stretch and have an amazing mid-rise!

4. When it comes to what to wear on top, I try to go sexy without being over the top. If you do wear jeans, a low-cut top will work because you aren't showing off any leg. To avoid the obnoxious stares by men of all ages, I try to do only a glimpse of cleavage. That way I don't feel like there's a spotlight on my chest all night. If you have a man that enjoys it when you show them off, just tell him they're all his to look at after dinner. I like to wear a flowy top that hits me right at the hip, but cinches in at the wasit or under the bust. Or a flirty, floral ruffle top like below (from Express) with a belt to accent the waist!

5. Lastly, polish off your look with full and bouncy hair, simple and sexy makeup, and fun accessories. Without these, your outfit will fall flat and your "bombshell look" will be a bust!

Add a harness look to accentuate your
curves. A belt can also work!

Something Blue {bridal shower} // Wedding Day Prep (Vol. 3)

Get ready for the showers... and I don't mean April rain! If you're a woman and you have girlfriends, (which most of us do) you will most likely be attending at least one bridal shower this year. What does this mean? Well, you might be a close friend or relative in the wedding and decide to host the shower. Or you are a friend that is invited to attend. You could be the Mother of the Bride who wants to help in any way possible. And lastly, you might be the guest of honor, the lovely bride-to-be!

One of my lovely Fizzy Brides sent an email to me after her bridal shower. She had surprised all of the ladies with my custom glasses with cartoon portraits of each as well as the wedding colors. Blue was the  color of the bridesmaid's dresses and I always like to match the bottom of the glasses to the dress color. I always wish I could be a little fly on the wall each time my glasses are opened as gifts. It would be so fun to everyone's faces and hear the squeals of excitement when they see their likeness on a fun and practical gift. Ronessa, the bride, was lovely enough to send these fabulous pictures that truly captured the moment I've always wanted to see!

"Hi Bethany, I have attached some pictures below. I'm sure you can tell by their faces that the girls thought the glasses were great! Thank you, Ronessa"

Thank you Ronessa for these wonderful
 photos from your bridal shower!
Here are sample photos of another custom order
with BLUE as one of the wedding colors.

What a {SWEET} year! // Announcing My Top Buyer for 2010: Lauren Hamblin

I opened my Etsy shop to sell my handpainted glassware in February 2009. I started to make sales here and there later that summer. So this last year has been my first solid year of being a full-time business owner of the FizzyArtist Custom Glassware. Lots of changes have come about since I opened nearly two years ago, but there has been pivotal growth since last January. 2010 has been such a sweet year in so many ways! As I get excited to start fresh with 2011, I thought I should stop and reflect on all of the "fizzy" moments over the last 12 months.

As the year began, I took ownership of the new title entrepreneur very seriously and became involved in a business owner small group that gave me accountability and resources to set me up for new successes. I quickly realized that my business was about to go to the adolescence stage. Even though the growth became overwhelming, I did my best to take things day by day. I love dreaming about where my FizzyArtist Glassware will take me and what my brand will look like someday!

I started the year with a surprising not-so-slow January. Spring wedding orders slowly started to pour in. One of my goals for 2010 was to get an ad in a magazine and by mid-January, I was contacted by Wedding Style from California to see if I was interested in being featured!

April was my first slammin' month of sales,
they creeped right under 10k.

I took time of over the Easter Holiday to visit my sister,
brother-in-law, and to meet my new niece in NYC.

By June my schedule was booked solid for the next eight weeks with orders. My schedule continued that way until late October.
In late June, I took my first international vacation
to Australia. I visited with two girlfriends from
high school who lived there at the time.
After my trip to Australia things became a bit blurry! I already had July and August completely booked when I got home and the orders kept coming in. It was a never-ending snowball effect. Every week I would paint and ship out approximately 60-80 glasses and in the same breath that many were purchased for upcoming orders in the fall. Some days I would paint large orders of 20 glasses and would work on them all day and into the evening. Sometimes I couldn't get them done with enough time to ship so I would have to Express Mail the order to arrive when they were requested.

By fall, I was exhausted and energized by the non-stop pace at the same time. Not only was I painting at least 80 glasses a week, I also was managing the business the best that I could. Thankfully, I had assistants that I could rely on for help. Over the year I have had several friends work for me a couple of hours each week. They have helped me with packaging, post office runs, shopping for glassware, organizing, blogging and painting. I also had to hire a financial advisor, bookkeeper and accountant. Without all of the help that I have had, I know I wouldn't have been able to make it.

At least by the end of the year, things began to slow down a bit. My holiday season was not as crazy as last year and I am very thankful for the break. Now I am refreshed and ready to go. Bring on the weddings! The FizzyArtist is ready for another sweet year!

Announcing My Top Buyer for 2010:
Lauren Hamblin

Lauren has been a repeat buyer for as long as I can remember! I would see her name on an Etsy order with a note saying, "I'm back and I love your stuff!" Being young (like myself) many of Lauren's friends have been getting married. Some of them have had weddings that are out of town. So Lauren has purchased a couple of my "Bride and Groom" sets and had them shipped straight to the couple in another state. As my business has taken off, she has watched how busy I've become compared to the early days when she made her first purchase.

"Hi!  Thanks again! I always love ordering from you -
and I'm so glad your business is doing so well! :)"
 - Lauren

As the year came to an end, I saw a holiday order come in from Lauren for some of her family. She had purchased my "About Me" designs and I somehow got the greatest idea. I decided to make Lauren her very own glass, but wanted it to be a surprise. So I sent her an email saying that I would like to feature her on my blog as my top buyer and would like to use a picture of her. What she didn't know was that I would also use that photo to make her an "About Me" glass! I was so excited to wrap it up with the rest of her order the week before Christmas. Of course, the day the package had arrived I had a lovely "thank you" email from her and this adorable picture of her and the glass. The perfect touch, my plan had worked!

Thank you Lauren for your business and support!

I hope everyone has an even sweeter 2011!
